HIT PARADE LEADS TO SWEEP

BETHANY, Oklahoma – The 30th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University baseball team collected a season-high 17 hits, including seven extra-base hits, to lead the Tigers to a 13-3 win over Southern Nazarene University on Saturday and finish the sweep over the Crimson Storm.

It was the fourth Great American Conference sweep of the season for the Tigers (34-12, 22-8 GAC), who enter the final week of the regular season just one game behind GAC leader Southern Arkansas University in the league standings.

The Tigers scored their 13 runs on 17 hits, marking the 15th game this season to score double-digit runs and the 24th game with double-digit hits.

Ouachita started the rout with a five-run rally in the third inning, highlighted by a two-run homerun by Michael Quinones, his eighth of the season. The Tigers had another five-run inning in the sixth, this time highlighted by a bases-clearing double by Jud Arrington. G. Allen finalized Ouachita's scoring with three-run homerun in the eighth, his ninth of the year. Dustin Bermudez also homered in the win with a solo shot to start the sixth inning, his eighth of the year.

Five Tigers came through with double-digit hit performances. Quinones led the way at 4-for-5 with Allen close behind at 3-for-6. Bermudez, Jaxon Chaney, and Cade Burris each had two hits in the win.

Teddy Webb (7-2) earned the win on the mound, giving up just two earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts through the first five innings. Hayden Childers came on in the sixth and faced just two SNU batters over the minimum and held the Crimson Storm (15-31, 6-24 GAC) scoreless the rest of the way to earn a nine-out save, his first of the season.

Ouachita is scheduled for its final non-conference game of the season this Tuesday night with a road trip to Searcy to take on Harding.
