ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's swimming & diving team picked up a big senior night win, taking down No.13 Henderson State for the first time in 12 years by the score of 133-110 Friday night at Waggoner Pool.
Tonight marks the first time that the Tigershark men have beaten the Red Wave since January 27, 2012, when Ouachita won 126-114 at home.
The Tigersharks won a total of eight events, those winners were:
Tyler Andruss won the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 9:46.07. Andruss also picked up a win in the 500 Free with a time of 4:39.22, winning by six seconds.
Elijah Christenson won the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:41.60. Christenson also won the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:50.37, winning by roughly five seconds.
Jeff McCoy won the 200 Backstroke by less than a second with a time of 1:50.97. McCoy also placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.93, 0.17 seconds out of first.
Carson Powers won 1-meter diving with a score of 274.25, winning the event by almost 70 points. Powers also won the 3-meter dive by 64.5 points with a score of 256.55.
Miles Schulze won the 200 Breaststroke by 1.5 seconds with a time of 2:03.09.
Multiple other Tigersharks placed in the top three of events, they were:
- Sam Ragsdell took second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 46.61. Ragsdell also placed third in the 50 Free with a time of 21.21.
- Zsombor Bujdoso placed second in the 500 Free with a time of 4:45.22. Bujdoso also placed second in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:04.54, less than two seconds out of first.
- The 400 Medley Relay squad of Jeff McCoy, Miles Schulze, Elijah Christenson, and James Savarese took second in the event with a time of 3:24.13, less than a second out of first.
- The 400 Freestyle Relay squad of Sam Ragsdell, Ian Redman, James Savarese, and Ethan Sparks placed second in the event with a time of 3:06.26, almost two seconds out of first.
- Samuel Goins placed third in 1-meter diving with a score of 175.40.
- Chad Gscheidle finished third in the 3-meter dive with a score of 152.85.
- Angel Medina took third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.05.
- Ian Redman finished third in the 100 Free with a time of 47.71.
- Tristian Richert placed third in the 200 Back with a time of 1:59.27.
- The 400 Medley Relay squad of Ethan Sparks, Justin Oulette, David Ware, and Alex Schulze placed third with a time of 3:34.29.
- The 400 Free Relay squad of Ware, Alex Schulze, Rafael Bustillo, and Tyler Andruss finished third in the event with a time of 3:12.41.
The Tigershark men honored eight seniors prior to the meet, they were

Chad Gscheidle,
Jeff McCoy,
Parker Nelson,
Noah Smith,
Jax Stevens,
Barrett Troup, and
Duncan Troup. All eight of these seniors have played big roles for Ouachita Swim and Dive over their careers and their skills and leadership will be missed.
Tonight's 133-110 win over no. 13 Henderson is the third win over a top 25 opponent for the Tigershark men this season. The men currently sit at no. 23 on the CSCAA Top 25 poll.
Next up, the Tigersharks will head to Cleveland, Mississippi to take on the Statesmen of Delta State University on February 2-3.
