ADA, Oklahoma – The Ouachita men's cross country team took fourth place at the 2024 Great American Conference Championships Saturday morning.
The Tigers placed fourth with 123 points at the 2024 Championships. Nationally ranked East Central won the Championship meet with a score of 26 points. Harding placed second with 49 points, followed by Oklahoma Baptist in third with 64 points to round out the top four teams.
Gabriel Metoyer was the top finisher for the Tigers in the 8K. The freshman placed 21st with a time of 26:42.09.
Cade Swindle was the next Tigers across the line in 25th place with a time of 26:52.56, followed by
Whit Lawrence in 26th (26:54.12),
Jaelen Becho in 28th (26:57.77), and
Lawson Sanders in 31st (27:04.03) to round out the top five runners and scorers for Ouachita.
The Tigers will now be preparing for the 2024 NCAA Central Regional Championships that are set to take place on Saturday, November 9 in Joplin, Missouri.
