MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Ouachita men's track and field team tallied three first-place wins and 15 top 10 finishes over the weekend at the Rhodes College Invitational.
The three event winners for Ouachita were:
Caden Callahan won the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.16 seconds, winning by just 0.01 seconds. Callahan also placed second in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 57.11.
Keagan Pointer won the 800m with a time of 1:55.44, winning by a margin of over two seconds.
The 4x800m Relay squad of
Ethan Kailey,
Xander Naegle,
Jameson Flatt, and Pointer won the event by 15 seconds with a time of 7:55.04.
Tigers finishing in the top three of events were:
Cade Swindle took second in the 10,000m with a time of 31:31.93.
MJ Ryman placed second in the Pole Vault with a height of 4.45m (14', 7.25")
The 4x400m Relay squad of
Gavin Rainey, Pointer, Marcus McGhaee, and Naegle placed second with a time of 3:23.72, just 0.37 seconds out of first place.
Evan Armitage placed third in the 10,000m with a time of 33:12.40.
Josh Tibbs finished third in the Mile with a time of 4:21.67, missing first place by less than two seconds.
In total, the Tigers recorded 15 top 10 finishes in Memphis. There were no team scores recorded at this meet, but the Tigers had a successful weekend in Tennessee against opponents from Division I, II, and III programs.
Next up, the Tigers will head south to Texas to take part in the Texas Relays at the University of Texas in Austin and compete in the Texas State Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos. The Texas Relays will take place from March 27-30 and the Bobcat Invitational will be from March 28-30.
