SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – G. Allen hit three home runs and
Dustin Bermudez hit two as the Ouachita baseball team fell to Oklahoma Baptist on the road Saturday by a final score of 14-13.
The Tigers (23-18, 15-12 GAC) win the series over the Bison (25-16, 14-13 GAC) two games to one following Friday's doubleheader sweep.
Allen finished Saturday's game 4-for-5 at the plate with four RBI. It was his first four-hit game of the season and his first career game with three home runs. The senior from Little Rock had been on an eight-game homerless drought prior to the game. He now has 36 home runs in his career, just three away from the school's all-time record.
Bermudez went 4-for-6 with four RBI. It was his second four-hit game of the season and fourth game with two home runs. The senior from Chandler, Arizona now sits at 30 career home runs, just the third Tiger to ever hit at least 30.
Tallon Heine also homered in Saturday's game and finished 2-for-4 with a career-high four RBI. It was his fourth home run of the year. He also had a triple, his team-high third this year.
Saturday's game mirrored both of Friday's games with a back-and-forth, high-scoring affair. Both teams ended up with 15 hits. There were a combined 12 extra base hits between the two teams.
In addition to Allen, Bermudez, and Heine,
Cade Burris and
Joseph Bolin also turned in multiple hits with two each.
The Tigers are back in action next weekend at home in a three-game GAC series against Southern Nazarene.
