ARKADELPHIA – The No. 13 Ouachita men's swimming and diving team picked up a dominant 147-54 win over the Falcons of Montevallo University Wednesday night at Waggoner Pool.
The Tigershark men earned wins in 10 of the 11 total events to help them achieve their 93-point victory over NSISC foe Montevallo.
Tyler Andruss was one of two Tigersharks to claim two event wins. Andruss won the 200 Freestyle by more than six seconds with a time of 1:42.84 and took first in the 500 Freestyle by almost 13 seconds with a time of 4:43.19.
Daniel Meszaros was the second Tigershark to claim two event victories as he won the 100 Butterfly by almost two seconds with a time of 50.27 and won the 1000 Freestyle by 31 seconds with a time of 9:45.36.
Justin Oulette won the 100 Breaststroke with by almost three seconds with a time of 59.82 and was the only swimmer to swim under the one minute in the event.
Anthony Paculba won the 200 IM by six seconds with a time of 1:57.13
Sam Ragsdell won the 100 Freestyle by over three seconds with a time of 46.27.
David Ware won the 100 Backstroke by just over a second with a time of 53.62.
The 400 Medley Relay squad of
Ethan Sparks,
Miles Schulze,
Michael Higgens, and Ragsdell won the event by just over a second with a time of 3:28.57.
The 200 Freestyle Relay Squad of Ian Redman,
Zsombor Bujdoso,
James Savarese and Sparks won the event by almost two seconds with a time of 1:27.57.
The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Meszaros,
Rafael Bustillo, Ware, and Ragsdell set a new Waggoner Pool record in the event with a time of 1:22.44 in an exhibition run.
In total, the Tigersharks tallied 24 top three finishes and 39 top five finishes across 11 events in route to their 147-54 win over the Falcons.
The Tigersharks will be back in the pool next week taking on cross-street rival Henderson State on Friday, January 25 in Waggoner Pool at 5 p.m. for senior night.
