ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's basketball team beat Champion Christian 91-49 in an exhibition game Friday inside Bill Vining Arena.
Ouachita senior guard Madeline Tipton opened the scoring, burying a pair of 3s to set the tone early. Tipton led the Tigers with a game-high 18 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the floor.
Ouachita went on a 10-0 scoring run over three minutes following the first media timeout, capped off by senior guard Heidi Robiinson hitting a shot from the elbow to give the Tigers a 25-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers hit 10 of 15 shots in the first frame, including 5 of 9 from deep.

Samantha Watson's seven-point burst off the bench kept the pressure on. The Tigers played at a relentless pace and took advantage of second-chance scoring. Ouachita dominated the glass 59–36, turned 15 offensive rebounds into 21 second-chance points and shot 49.2% overall while hitting 12 threes.

Makayla Vation ignited Ouachita's 11-0 scoring run in the second quarter, scoring seven points featuring a fast-break three and a transition layup off her own steal to increase the lead to 41–24.
After the second media timeout, Ouachita went on a 8-0 scoring run to close the first half with a 42-24 lead. The Tigers connected on 16 of 32 of their shots from the floor and 7 for 14 from beyond the arc.
Ouachita opened the second half on a 12-3 scoring run, then delivered its most decisive stretch midway through the third period. After Champion Christian cut the margin to 15, the Tigers answered with a 12–0 run to put the game away.
Ouachita piled on 29 points in the fourth quarter, as Robinson started the period with a corner three.
Watson poured in 14 off the bench. Vation filled the stat sheet with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Ouachita begins the 2025-26 season on the road against Northeastern State on Tuesday in Tahlequah, Okla.
