HAYS, Kan. – Ouachita freshman midfielder Andrew Castellanos earned a spot on the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Central Region First Team, further cementing a sensational debut season.
The regional recognition follows Castellanos' selection to the All-Great American Conference First Team earlier in November.
The Balch Springs, Texas native became the most creative and reliable playmaker as he orchestrated the Tigers' possession through the pitch with immaculate vision and precision. Across the final three weeks of the regular season, Castellanos delivered assists in matches against No. 14 Rogers State, Dallas Christian, and Newman, which were all matches in which the Tigers went unbeaten. His distribution in transition ignited the late surge down the home stretch as Ouachita won four of its final five matches, including three straight GAC victories to close the regular season.
Castellanos finished his freshman campaign leading the Tigers with four assists, while averaging 1.88 shots per match, both marks that ranked tied for eighth in the GAC. He scored one goal and led Ouachita with six points. The rising newcomer was a catalyst creating a much-needed offensive spark, which positions him as a cornerstone to carry that late-season momentum moving forward beyond the 2025 season.
