TIGERS TRIPPED UP IN SEARCY

SEARCY, Arkansas – The Ouachita volleyball team had its 12-match winning streak halted on Tuesday night in a five-set road loss to Harding.

The Tigers (22-4, 12–1 GAC) looked well on their way to extending that winning streak with victories in the first two sets on Tuesday by scores of 25-22 in both. However, the hosts had different plans, rallying back to win the next three frames by scores of 26-24, 25-21, and 15-13.

The loss is Ouachita's first in Great American Conference matches this season. The Tigers had a two-match lead over Harding (20-4, 11-2 GAC) heading into Tuesday night's contest keeping Ouachita in first place with three matches remaining in the regular season.

Four Tigers reached double-digits in kills against the Bisons. Emily Adams and Kailey Thedford each had 14. Riley Braziel had 13. Leah Gardner finished with 12.

Braziel added 14 digs to her final totals for her fourth straight double-double and eighth overall this season. Gardner tied for the match-high in blocks with five. Haley Fairchild added four blocks to go along with seven kills.

Courtney Hanson finished with 52 kills and 11 digs for her second 50+ assist match of the year and 17th double-double.

Kylie Kisgen led the back row with 22 digs. Peyton Church added 18. Savannah Whitaker had 16.

The Tigers are back at home on Thursday night to take on Arkansas-Monticello. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Sturgis Physical Education Center.
