CONWAY, Arkansas – The Ouachita men's track & field team started the 2025 season with five event wins at the Hendrix Invitational on Saturday.
No team scores were kept at this season-opening meet, but the women fared well against competition from Division I in Central Arkansas, and Division II foes that included fellow GAC member Harding.
The Winners:
Evan Armitage won the 5000m by more than 13 seconds with a time of 15:21.18.
Caden Callahan won the 400m Hurdles by 0.80 seconds with a time of 56.61. Callahan also took second in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.11, just 0.04 seconds out of first place.
Josh Tibbs took first in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:39.06, winning by a margin of just 0.30 seconds.
The 4x100m Relay team of
Baden Brink,
Dhakivion Seals, Hecht, and Callahan won the event by just over three seconds with a time of 43.15.
The 4x400m Relay team of Seals, Callahan, Hecht, and Brink won the event by almost nine seconds with a time of 3:23.47.
Top Finishers:
Jaelen Becho took second in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:39.36, just 0.30 seconds out of first.
Aden Hecht placed second in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 57.41, less than a second out of first.
Tate Stacks took second in the 5000m with a time of 15:34.99. Stacks was one of two runners to run a sub-16-minute 5000m.
Zach Lane placed third in the Triple Jump with a distance of 12.55m (41' 2"). Lane also placed fifth in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.80m.
Jones White finished third in the 800m with a time of 1:56.08, missing first place by less than two seconds.
Dylan Dew placed fourth in the 1500m (4:01.60), followed by
Gabriel Greenwich in fifth (4:01.65).
MJ Ryman placed fourth in the Pole Vault with a height of 4.25m, followed by
Isaac Chapman in fifth (4.10m). Chapman also placed fifth in the Discus Throw with a distance of 41.24m.
The 4x400m Relay Team of
Keagan Pointer, White,
Xander Naegle, and Caleb Houge placed third with a time of 3:33.43, less than two seconds out of second place.
The Tigers will be back in action next week when they travel to compete in the Harding Invitational & Multi that is set to run March 6-8 in Searcy, Arkansas.
