CLINTON, Mississippi – The Ouachita men's tennis team went on the road on Friday to take on 33-ranked Mississippi College resulting in a 7-0 win for the Choctaws.
Phil Exner and Ramon Strassmann, the seventh-ranked doubles duo in the nation, opened the match with an convincing 6-1 victory on court one, but the Choctaws rallied back to win every other matchup the rest of the way.
Exner, ranked second nationally in singles, suffered his first loss of the spring season, falling in a top 10 battle to seventh-ranked Alex Benichou Blanchard. Strassmann, Aaron Osmond, and Yarin Aebi all forced tiebreakers in their respective singles matchups, but the Choctaws came up with wins in each to preserve the shutout.
The Tigers are on the road to Wichita Falls, Texas next week to take on Cameron and UT-Dallas in neutral site matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.
