ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's track & field team won two events and recorded nine top five finishes across three meets this week, two in California, and one in Magnolia, Arkansas to wrap up the regular season.
Magnolia, Arkansas
The Tigers made a quick trip south to compete in the Dan Veach Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University. No team scores were kept at the meet, but Ouachita fared well against multiple Division II and GAC opponents.
Winners
Brayden James won the 3000m Steeplechase by almost 20 seconds with a time of 10:39.39.
Brooks Johnson was the next Tiger across the line, placing third with a time of 10:58.58, missing second place by 0.30 seconds.
Caden Callahan won the 400m Hurdles by almost a full second with a time of 54.32. Callahan also finished fifth in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.06.
Top Finishers
Josh Tibbs took second in the 1500m with a time of 3:59.68, just over a second out of first place.
Ethan Kailey was close behind, placing third with a time of 4:00.11. Tibbs also placed third in the 800m with a time of 1:57.70.
Miller Goff placed fifth in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.02 seconds. Less than half a second out of first place.
Caleb Hogue finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 1:58.23.
Landon Proctor placed fifth in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:01.12.
California
Four Tigers made a trip out west to compete in the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational and the La Verne Leopard Invitational in California. Both meets consisted of teams from top Division I power five schools as well as some of the top programs in Division II, III, and NAIA.
Gabriel Greenwich finished 11
th in the 3000m Steeplechase at the La Verne Leopard Invitational with a time of 9:21.72, the second-fastest time so far this season in the GAC.
Jaelen Becho was close behind, placing 15
th with a time of 9:28.22, which ranks fifth in the GAC.
Lawson Sanders finished in the top 60 of the 5000m with a time of 14:40.69. Sanders' time ranks fifth in the conference so far this year.
Dylan Dew posted a time of 1:51.54 in the 800m, the fastest time in the GAC so far this season.
This week marks the end of the regular season for Ouachita. The Tigers will now be preparing for the 2025 Great American Conference Championships that are scheduled for May 1-3 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
