ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's track & field team set five school records and hit two provisional marks between two meets in California and one meet in Magnolia, Arkansas that ran from Wednesday through Saturday afternoon.
California
The Tigers set a total of five school records and posted two NCAA provisional times at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific in Azusa, California and the Leopard Invitational hosted by La Verne University in La Verne, California.
No team scores were recorded, but the field of over 50 teams ranged from Division I Power Five schools to some of the top Division II, III, and NAIA programs in the nation.
The Provisionals
Katelynn Nachtigal hit a provisional and school record time of 10:34.66 in the 3000m Steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The junior from Rogers, Arkansas placed 32
nd overall in the event, eighth overall out of the Division II runners. Nachtigal's time of 10:34.66 currently ranks first overall in the central region and 16
th overall in DII.
Belle Lindsey posted a provisional mark in the 400m Hurdles with a school record time of 1:01.77, finishing 17
th overall and fourth among DII hurdlers. The sophomore from DeQueen, Arkansas' time ranks eighth in the central region so far. Lindsey also set a school record in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.28.
Elise Knight recorded a provisional time of 10:49.18 in the 3000m Steeplechase, placing in the top 65 runners. Knight's time currently ranks fourth in the central region and second in the GAC.
The Records
Jaci McGregor set a school record in the 800m with a time of 2:14.26, tying with a runner from the University of Iowa.
Mackenzie Davis broke her own school record in the 5000m with a time of 17:17.76. Davis's time ranks second in the GAC so far this season.
Magnolia, Arkansas
Another group of Tigers made the quick trip south to compete in the Dan Veach Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University. No team scores were recorded in Magnolia, but the Tigers fared well against multiple DII programs with five top five finishes.
Addison Skelton took second in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.55, placing first among GAC runners. Bella Maxon finished fourth in the event with a time of 15.76.
Three Tigers finished in the top eight of the Javelin Throw.
Rylee Gray took third with a distance of 32.11m (105' 4").
Ariana Neal was next in fourth (30.76) followed by Kaylee Heffington in eighth (28.59m). Neal also placed fifth in the Shot Put (11.57m) and seventh in the Discus Throw with a distance of 36.28m.
Brenlee Leonard took third in the Shot Put with a distance of 12.71m (41' 8.5").
Adrienna Gray finished third in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:07.82.
This week marks the end of the regular season for Ouachita. The Tigers will now be preparing for the 2025 Great American Conference Championships that are scheduled for May 1-3 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
