ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita Baptist University men's swimming & diving student-athlete
Tyler Andruss has been selected to the Academic All-America Second Team presented by College Sports Communicators.
In the pool, Andruss was one of Ouachita's top swimmers this past season and one of the best in the conference. The junior earned first-team All-NSISC honors after posting two top three individual finishes at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships. Andruss also earned second team All-America honors as part of the 800 Freestyle Relay squad that finishes in the top 10 at the Division II National Championships in March.
In the classroom, the Fort Worth, Texas native carries a 4.0 cumulative GPA in pursuit of a bachelor's degree with a double major in finance and business administration. Andruss has been named to the Ouachita President's List five times across five semesters as a Tigershark and is a two-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Andruss competed in 15 meets for the Tigersharks this season, primarily competing in the Freestyle distance events. Across those 15 meets, he tallied four individual wins and 23 top three finishes. Andruss was the runner-up in the 1650 Freestyle at the NSISC Championships.
This is the second season in a row for the Tigersharks to have an Academic All-America honoree.
