ENID, Oklahoma – The Ouachita baseball team concluded its 2025 season on Friday with an 8-6 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State at the Great American Conference Championship Tournament.
Two unearned runs in the sixth inning for the Savage Storm ended up being the difference in Friday's game. Southeastern (22-29) finished with eight runs on 15 hits and two errors. Ouachita (24-25) scored its six runs on nine hits and finished with one error.
Southeastern struck first with a single run in the top of the first inning and then went up 4-0 with three runs in the third. Ouachita responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the third, including a solo home run from
Joseph Bolin, an RBI double by
Wesley Scott, and a sac fly from
Kyndall Cassidy.
The Tigers tied up the game in the fourth inning at 4-4 on an RBI single from
Isaac Nowell.
The Savage Storm came back with another three-run rally in the sixth inning to take a 7-4 lead and then went up 8-4 with a single run in the seventh.
Ouachita rallied in the seventh, coming up with two runs on RBI singles from Scott and
Jaxson Jester. Southeastern reliever Carson Abbott then came in to get Southeastern out of a bases-loaded jam to preserve the lead. Abbott finished the game retiring all eight Tiger batters he faced in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings.
