Evan Wilkerson competed at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore this past week, winning bronze in the S12 category for visual impairment in the 100-meter backstroke.
Wilkerson's time of 1:03.98 in the event resulted in his first medal in international competition.
He also competed in the S12 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle, finishing 10th and 12th respectively in those events.
Wilkerson, a freshman at Ouachita from Wake Forest, North Carolina, formerly competed in Paris at the 2024 Paralympic games, and is highly touted as the USA's top swimmer in the S12 category. He now returns to Arkadelphia and will compete with the Tigersharks in the rest of the 2025-26 season.
