EDMOND, Oklahoma – The Ouachita men's swimming & diving team turned in seven first-place finishes and finished second overall at this past Saturday's Sam Freas Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian.
The meet featured prominent NCAA Division II teams in Oklahoma Christian, UT-Permian Basin, and Southwest Baptist along with other names such as Barton Community College and St. Mary's University.
The team had a slew of wins, with senior
Sam Ragsdell taking first in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events, senior
Anthony Paculba winning the 200 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, freshman
Mikhail Lymar finishing at the top in the 100 backstroke and the team claiming first-place finishes in both the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Other high finishes for the men's team included a second-place finish for freshman
Lucas Cagle in the 200 breaststroke, senior
Tyler Andruss claiming third in both the 500 and 200 freestyle events, sophomore
Vince Pal taking third in the 200 butterfly, and senior Ian Redman procuring third in the 100 butterfly.
The Tigersharks will be in action next at their alumni meet this Saturday, October 4 prior to the homecoming football game. There will be a special presentation of rings from last year's New South Conference Intercollegiate Swim Conference championship before recognizing the alumni in attendance.
