RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Great American Conference has selected Ouachita's Abbey Harrison as the league's defensive player of the week after her efforts in a 2-0 week for the Tigers.

Harrison and the Tigers won both of their road games last week against the western Oklahoma schools in the GAC. The senior from Hernando, Mississippi posted double-doubles in both games and led the league in rebounding for the week.

In a 68-64 win on Thursday against then-ranked No. 15 Northwestern Oklahoma State, Harrison scored 13 points and added 11 rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal. Two days later, she scored 11 points and again totaled 11 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots and one steal in a 67-60 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State. The double-doubles were Harrison's first and second of the season.

The Tigers are back in action this Thursday, January 15 at home against Oklahoma Baptist. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena.
