SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – Oklahoma Baptist rallied from down nine with 3:34 remaining to beat the Ouachita women's basketball team 60-59 on Saturday inside the Noble Complex.
Madeleine Tipton hit a three-pointer to put her Tigers (12-12, 9-11 GAC) up 59-50 with 3:34 remaining, but the Bison (13-13, 9-11 GAC) kept Ouachita scoreless the rest of the way while rallying to earn the come-from-behind victory.
Ouachita was held to just nine points in the fourth period after outpacing the Bison in the third. A free throw by
Abbey Harrison on the first possession of the third broke a 30-all tie and the Tigers held the lead the rest of the frame, including a 10-point lead of 50-40 late in the period.
Oklahoma Baptist began chipping away at that point and kept the game within six until Tipton's trey put the Tigers up by nine in the fourth. Ouachita went 0-for-5 from the field and committed two turnovers down the stretch to allow for the Bison comeback.
The first half was back-and-forth with neither team leading by more than six.
Tipton finished with team-highs in points (24) and rebounds (9).

The Tigers are now tied for eighth in the GAC with two more games remaining in the regular season. The top eight make the GAC tournament March 5-8 in Fort Smith.
