HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas – The Ouachita baseball team wrapped up the 2026 season on Friday with a 6-1 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State in an elimination game of the Great American Conference Championship Tournament at Majestic Park.
The Tigers were up against the GAC Pitcher of the Year in NWOSU's Logan Sandoval who gave up just one hit through the first five innings. Ouachita scored its only run in the sixth inning on an RBI fielder's choice from
Jaren Ceasar to score
Kyndall Cassidy, who led off the inning with a single and moved to third on a single from
Octavio Mendivil.
The Rangers had a break through inning in the third after loading the bases with no outs and cashing in for three runs off three hits. NWOSU extended its lead to 4-0 with an RBI double in the fifth.
Following the Tiger run in the sixth, Ouachita had a chance to either tie the game or take the lead in the seventh with a two-out rally that came up empty after loading the bases.
NWOSU immediately regained the momentum with a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, which finalized the scoring.
The Tigers finish the season at 24-26 overall.
