Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Despite outscoring the Golden Suns in the second half, the Ouachita Lady Tigers failed to knock off Arkansas Tech in a 66-61 loss in Bill Vining Arena. The Golden Suns were ranked number 12 in Division II in the last USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Lady Tigers claimed the first lead of the contest and a 7-0 run put Ouachita ahead 11-4 early in the first half. Ouachita controlled the score for the first 14 minutes of the half, but an 11-0 run for the Golden Suns (16-3, 11-2 GAC) gave Tech a 26-22 lead with 4:36 left in the period. The Golden Suns would keep Ouachita from taking back the lead for the rest of the half, and Tech ended the period on an 8-0 run.
Neither team posted a shooting percentage above 40 percent in the first half. The Golden Suns attempted 12 more first-half field goals than the Lady Tigers, after forcing nine turnovers and grabbing nine offensive rebounds.

Kori Bullard are finished with six points each for Ouachita, while ATU's Anissa Pounds scored a game-high 13 points in the half. Kapler and
Katherine West grabbed four rebounds each, as well.
In the second half, Arkansas Tech maintained its lead but never led by more than 10. The Lady Tigers cut the lead to within five on eight separate occasions, but any run for Ouachita was quickly killed by the Golden Suns.
The Golden Suns converted on 45.8 percent of its shots in the second half, while the Lady Tigers netted only 37 percent. Ouachita's West and Tech's Fatima Adams tied for a game-high 13 points in the second half, while Adams grabbed 10 boards.
For the game, Pounds led all scorers with 23 points, while Adams added 19 and 13 rebounds. For Ouachita, Kapler finished with a team-high 14 points and nine rebounds. West followed with 13 points and six rebounds, and Bullard scored 11 points.
The Golden Suns recorded six more points in the paint and 10 more fast-break points, but the Lady Tigers scored three more second-chance points off their 11 offensive rebounds.
The Lady Tigers (7-13, 3-10 GAC) will travel to Ada, Okla. to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, Feb. 7. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
