Box Score SEARCY, Ark. – The Ouachita Lady Tigers lost their final game of the 2014-2015 regular season on Saturday, falling to the Harding Lady Bisons 81-56. Freshman
Taylor Bowles led Ouachita with 15 points.
The first half featured six ties and six lead changes. Ouachita grabbed the first lead in the game, as
Katherine West scored the team's first five points. The Lady Tigers maintained their lead until Harding tied the score at 11 with just under 12 minutes to play.
After Harding took a two-point lead, Ouachita's
Katie Kapler netted a three-pointer off the assist from
Macey Burr to steal back the lead for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers kept the lead for just over three minutes before Harding tied the game once again and later took another two-point lead.
With 2:33 to play until halftime, Bowles gave the Lady Tigers the 25-23 lead, and two-free throws from Kapler put Ouachita ahead by four. The lead changed twice in the final two minutes before Harding's A'ndrea Haney converted on 1-2 free-throws to bring the score to 29-29 at the half.
Kapler led Ouachita will 11 points and five rebounds in the period. Both teams netted less than 40 percent of their shots from the floor, and both teams grabbed 20 boards.
Kori Bullard gave the Lady Tigers the first lead of the second half on a jumper assisted by
Jasmine Cashaw, but Harding would take the lead on the next possession and hold it for the rest of the game.
The Lady Tigers kept the score within double-digits until a 25-3 run by the Lady Bisons gave Harding a 68-44 lead with 5:04 remaining in the contest. The Lady Bisons maintained at least a 20-point lead until the final buzzer when they lead by 25.
Bowles's 15 points came on 4-10 shooting from the floor and 4-4 from the free-throw line. Kapler followed with 11 points and five rebounds, while Bullard added nine points and seven boards, and West recorded eight points and three assists.
Harding dominated inside, scoring 40 points in the paint compared to Ouachita's 18. The Lady Bisons also recorded 13 more points off turnovers and 13 more second-chance points.
The Lady Tigers (10-17, 6-14 GAC) finish the season ranked ninth in the Great American Conference.
