Tigers down East Central 5-1 in semis

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers men's tennis team defeated East Central University 5-1 in the GAC Championship semifinals on Friday in Bentonville, Arkansas. It was the seventh straight win for the Tigers team. They will face the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State tomorrow in the finals.,

The Tigers swept the doubles matches against ECU. Marko Boskovic and Vitor Oliveira won their match 8-3. The second ranked doubles team in the Central Region are now 15-2 this season. The duos of Maceij Braciszewicz/Jason Mechali and Lennart Lonnemann/Andre Stefano won their matches 8-4.

In singles competition, two-time GAC Player of the Year Marko Boskovic won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. With the overall score 4-1, Lennart Lonnemann won his match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Lonnemann's win put the match away for the Tigers and moved them on to the finals for the fourth straight year.

Ouachita will meet Southeastern Oklahoma State in the finals, a rematch of last year's finals. The Tigers only loss in conference play this season came at the hands of Southeastern.
