PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers men's tennis team opened their 2016 season with a 7-0 defeat over The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Ouachita won four of the six singles matches in straight sets and swept the doubles matches.

Maciej Braciszewicz and
Jason Mechali each dropped their first set, but battled back strong to take the final two sets of their matches. In doubles, Chab and Stefano blanked their opponent, 8-0. With the match being held at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Ouachita played under Division I rules. Doubles are best two out of three with the winner earning one point only for both matches.
"This was a good start for us," Head Coach
Craig Ward said. "UAPB had a whole new team and made us work, which is what we needed. We are glad to get the season started."
The Tigers will face Jacksonville College on Feb. 6 in Texarkana, Texas. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
