ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita women's swimming and diving team defeated Hendrix College, Texas Permian Basin and Oklahoma Christian this past weekend at Waggoner Pool.

Steven Bostick said, "They are a very hungry group right now. Over two days several swimmers had multiple first place finishes. Everyone likes to win but it's exciting when you have a group that hates to lose. I'd say they have some momentum."
On Friday evening the women's swim team narrowly defeated Hendrix College 108-106. The Tigers 200-yard medley relay team made up of
Lilia Clark,
Emily Mahan,
Sydney Parker and Anastasiia Ulianova came in first place with a time of 1:53.26.
In the third event of the night
Camilla Howarth placed first in the 1000-yard Freestyle, while fellow Tiger swimmer
Madison McGhee came in third with a time of 12:33.40. In the fifth event of the night, Ouachita took the top three positions in the 200-yard freestyle. Clark recorded a sub two-minute time to take the competition and was followed by Ulianova and
Susannah Frith.
Christina Beger finished in third place in the 50-yard free style, while
Sarah Tuller and
Victoria Kunselman finished in sixth and seventh place respectively. Mahan came in second place of the 200-yard individual medley after clocking a time of 2:24.23.
Madison Shankle placed fifth in the individual medley with a time of 2:43.22.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Ouachita had three women finish in the top-five. Parker won the event with a time of 1:00.50,
Elysian Majeske finished in third and Howarth finished in fourth place. In the 100-yard freestyle Ulianova took first place with a time of 57.46, Beger came in third place with a time of 1:00.72 and Kunselman finished fifth with a time of 1:02.06.
Clark took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.54,
Madison McGhee and
Jordan Godbee came in sixth and ninth place respectively. Parker placed first in the 500-yard freestyle event and was followed shortly by Majeske and Shankle of Ouachita. Mahan and Frith each earned top-three finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Tigers concluded Friday nights event with a second and third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay team. The top team of Beger, Majeske, Kunselman and Howarth lost by just 20 tenths of a second.
The women's swim team took the momentum from Friday night's win and came away with a pair of victories on Saturday morning against Texas-Permian Basin and Oklahoma Christian.
The 400-yard Medley Relay team once again took first place to open up the meet. For a second straight competition Howarth finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle event, with Beger and Godbee placing fourth and fifth respectively.
Parker took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.70 and Kunselman and Frith ensured that the Tigers had three finish inside the top-five of the event. In the 50-yard freestyle event Clark exploded across the pool in a time of 25.13 seconds to take first place.
Alyssa Reece finished in the top-five of the event with a time of 27.03.
Parker claimed her second event of the afternoon with a top finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
Clark also took home first place honors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.83 seconds. Ulianova took second place in the 200-yard backstroke and McGhee finished close behind her in fourth place. Howarth claimed first place in the 500-yard freestyle and Beger and Kunselman made sure that all three Tiger swimmers finished inside the top-five.
Clark finished the morning with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, followed Mahan in third and Frith in fourth place.
