Rachel Jones named Ouachita head women’s tennis coach

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist University Athletic Director David Sharp announced the hiring of Rachel Jones as the new women's tennis coach.

"We are excited to have Rachel join our athletic staff as our women's tennis coach." Sharp said, "Her passion for the game and desire to work with student-athletes will resonate well as she works with and prepares our team for competition next fall."

Jones is currently the Director of Career Services at Ouachita and is also the wife of Ouachita men's soccer coach Wilson Jones. Together the couple has an infant son.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to lead such a great team." Jones replied, "I am very passionate about this sport and I am excited about building a successful team for next
season."

A 2011 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU), Jones earned her degree in International Business while also minoring in Spanish, Marketing and Management. While at Oklahoma State, Jones was a member of the women's tennis team.

Jones inherits a team that has a lot of upside and leadership in rising seniors Mallory Tabler (Bentonville, Ark.), and Kendra Dinsmore (Rogers, Ark.). Tabler has been the Tigers top option recently as she competed at both the No. 1 singles position and on the No. 1 doubles team this past season. The Great American Conference also announced Tabler to the All-GAC Second Team.

"I can't wait to get out there and help this team succeed both on and off the court." Jones said, "This team has all the pieces to be a winning team, I can't wait to help them accomplish their individual goals this upcoming season."
