Eight seniors will swim their last races on Friday night as Ouachita Swim battles Henderson State.
A Preview of the Battle of the Ravine
In the second matchup this season with Henderson State the Tigers look to continue their swimming success. The freshman class has vocalized their desires to send the seniors out right by breaking Waggner Pool swimming records.
Lilia Clark who is having an incredible inaugural season looks to challenge the record holder in the 200 IM and 200 Breaststroke.
Sydney Parker who has had a great season herself looks to break the top times in the 200 yard Backstroke and 50 yard Freestyle. On the men's side the duo of
Noah Day and
Brandon Parramore continue their success this season as they look to defeat the rival school.
Look at the Seniors
"This senior class is very special to me. They were the first group of athletes I was able to recruit and have stuck with me during the ups and downs, "said Coach
Steven Bostick on the 2019 graduates.
Susannah Frith and
Emily Mahan are the two women's swim team members that graduate this year. They have both shown great leadership to a young team that includes ten underclassmen. Mahan on her time at Ouachita, "we have a strong girls' team who is excited to race and have grown closer since we have been here."
The Women Tigers swim team are having a strong season as they work to get ready for the meet Friday and the NSISC Championships in February. The team is enriched with senior leadership which has carried over into standout freshmen swimmers. The Tigers are 4-5 on the year and have challenged top teams in swimming such as TCU and Oklahoma Baptist.
"It has been one of our strongest teams in my time here. I am excited to go to conference because of how amazing this team is, "says Mahan
On the guys' side there five swimmers who will be graduating this year.
Brandon Parramore,
Noah Day, Christ Harrison, Alex Podguzov and
Jacob Evans will compete for the last time in Sturgis on Friday night. They five of them combined this season have over 20 victories in events.
"I look at the current freshman and it brings back memories of when I was a freshman. It is hard to think about how Friday is my last time walking out as a Tiger," says senior swimmer

The Men's swimming team has had a good season and is looking to bring all their hard work to the meet on Friday night. The team is 1-7 on the year, but their record does not reflect the passion and grit they have shown this year. In their win against Hendrix
Brandon Parramore and
Noah Day put on a show, securing first place finishes in multiple events.
Parramore on the team, "This experience has been special; the time that I have been here and to see the team and myself as a person grow and be changed. To see everyone that has come and gone I have been here."
Coach Bostick on sending off the seniors, "Each one of them has been instrumental in developing a culture of personal ownership in their spiritual, academic, and athletic endeavors. I love these athletes and their families. They are the foundation of our team and I want them to always remember that and be proud of what they have accomplished. "
