Lady Tigers Add Eight for 2020-21

Ouachita Baptist women's basketball has added eight players for the 2020-21 season. The signing class includes six freshmen and two junior college transfers, hailing from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. 
 

Dai Brown

Dai Brown
Dai Brown is an All-State, All-Metro, and two-time All-Conference honoree. She has three district championships, two regional championships, and two state championships under her belt, on top of being Earle High School valedictorian.
 
Dai is the daughter of Larenda Atkins and Marcus Brown. She likes to dance and sing and her major is Biology.

Ray Osborn

Ray Osborn
Ray Osborn is an All-Conference, All-Academic, and All-State athlete from Sapulpa High School in Oklahoma.
 
Ray is the daughter of Michael and Kim Osborn. Her hobbies include watching Netflix and playing with her pets. Her major is Accounting
 
"Ray has started for three years and will be a floor general for us this season. She is an outstanding student athlete who had a great summer for us. On the court, Ray is an athlete and aggressive slasher with a sweet mid-range jump shot.: - Sapulpa Head Coach Darlean Calip
 
"Ray is an explosive athlete who can make plays on both ends of the floor that impact the game. She loves to get in the passing lanes and turn defense into offense. Emmaline Rieder

Emmaline Rieder
Emmaline Rieder joins the Lady Tigers out of Clarksville High School. She is a three-time All-Conference award winner and a two-time 4A All-State honoree.
 
She averaged 13.4ppg, 7rpg, shooting 48% from the field. She was a part of her HS' 1,000 point club as well.
 
Emmaline is the daughter of David and Stephanie Rieder. Her hobbies include drawing and watching movies. Her major is Communication Science and Disorders.
 
"Emmaline is an outstanding player as well as an outstanding student athlete. She works extremely hard putting in the extra time and work that is needed to be successful" - Coach Talley, Clarksville High.

Makenzie Schilmoeller

Makenzie Schilmoeller
Makenzie Schilmoeller comes to Arkadelphia as an Academic All-District and All-State honoree at Euless Trinity High School.
 
Makenzie is the daughter of Marty and Melanie Schilmoeller. Her hobbies include working out and spending time with her friends. Her major is Biology and she is also getting her pre-requisite in nursing.
 
"Makenzie is a coach's dream…she's always focused, intense, passionate, and selfless. She is a winner in every sense of the word and helps set the tone/culture for her team. Mak can shoot the lights out. She runs the floor extremely well, plays great position and team defense, and has a very high basketball IQ." - HG Elite Coach Wayne Watts

Parker Smith
Parker Smith

Parker Smith joins Ouachita from Des Arc High School in Searcy, where she played for her father, Ryan. She received All-State and All-Conference honors her senior year.
 
Parker is the daughter of Ryan and Mendy Smith. Her hobbies include riding horses and jet skiing. She plans on being a Dental Hygienist.

"Parker has a gift for shooting the ball and can really stretch the defense with her ability to do so from behind the arc. Brittney Williams

Brittney Williams

Brittney Williams comes to Ouachita from Central Arkansas Christian School in Little Rock. Brittney was a 2 year all-conference player at CAC averaging double figures in scoring and rebounding. She helped lead the Mustangs to multiple conference and regional championships, along with a quarterfinals appearance in the 2019-20 3A state tournament.
 
Brittney is the daughter of Leonard and Tonia Williams. Her hobbies include drawing, painting, and basketball. Her major is Kinesiology.
 
"Brittney was instrumental in our Conference, District, and Regional Championships last year. She is an excellent student and a great teammate that everyone at CAC is proud of." - CAC Head Coach Steve Quattlebaum
 
"Brittany is an extremely strong post player who also can be explosive running the lane in transition. She has an ability to not only finish around the rim but also to shoot the trail jumper, which will stretch the defense. Kailen Wright

Kailen Wright

Kailen Wright joins Ouachita as a JUCO transfer from Connors State where she appeared in 26 games last season and made NJCAA All-Academic Honors while playing alongside her sister, Lauren.
 
Kailen is the daughter of Rod and Monica Wright. Her hobbies include reading, hanging out with friends, watching Netflix, and playing card games. Her major is Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
 
"Kailen is an explosive, strong athlete who can make plays on both ends of the floor. She excels at running the lanes offensively, and at guarding the opponent's best player on defense. She just cares about her team winning games and that's why I am thrilled to get to coach her this year." - OBU Head Coach Robert Dallimore

Lauren Wright

Lauren Wright

Lauren Wright joins the Lady Tigers from Connors State along with her sister Kailen. She made NJCAA All-Academic Honors while attending Connors State.
 
Lauren made all 32 appearances this past season for the Cowboys, starting in 27, where she averaged 9.6 PPG and 5.8 RPG shooting nearly 40% from the field and 80.8% from the free throw line.
 
Lauren is the daughter of Roderick and Monica Wright. Her hobbies include reading and hanging out with her friends. Her majors are Kinesiology and Exercise Science
 
"Lauren has a strong build and plays with a motor which allows her to find multiple ways to score in transition to help her team be successful. In addition, she has really developed her shot to be a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. Her junior college team thrived last year due in great part to her unselfishness and team first mentality which is why I am so excited to get to coach her." - OBU Head Coach Robert Dallimore
