ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University men's and women's cross country teams both came away with victories at the Tiger Invitational on a rainy Friday afternoon.
WOMEN'S RACE RECAP
It is the third straight win for the Ouachita women's team in as many meets so far this season. The Tigers took first place in the team standings by an overwhelming 43-point margin. Ouachita had 20 points, followed by John Brown (63), Arkansas Tech (79), Henderson State (80), Ozarks (149), and LeMoyne-Owen (170).
John Brown's Allika Pearson was the individual winner with a time of 17:53. Following her were seven straight Ouachita runners.
Jaci McGregor led the Tigers in second with a time of 18:26.2.
Mackenzie Davis followed in third at 18:47.7.
Macie Cash finished fourth at 18:57.7.
Kyndal Moyer took fifth at 19:11.7.
Becca Beard finished sixth at 19:25.4.
Kristen Holeyfield was seventh at 19:30.
MEN'S RACE RECAP
The Ouachita men's team won its first race of the season after finishing second in both of its previous meets. The Tigers won by 13 points in the standings with 21 points to John Brown University's 34 points. The next highest team was Ozarks with 112 points.

Whit Lawrence was the individual winner with a time 25:28. Four other Tigers placed in the top 10.
Cade Swindle placed third at 26:00.7,
Josh Tibbs was fourth at 26:04.7,
Jaelen Becho finished sixth at 26:11, and
Lawson Sanders finished seventh at 26:15.3.
Ouachita is now set for its longest road trip of the season next Saturday, October 9 for the Charger Invitational, hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
