ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University baseball team lost to Northwest Missouri State on Friday afternoon at home by a final score of 7-3.
G. Allen hit Ouachita's first homerun of the 2022 season, a two-run opposite field blast over the wall in left center in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game after the Bearcats put up two runs in the top of the first.
Neither team found the scoreboard again until the seventh, when the Bearcats took advantage of a Tiger throwing error to plate two unearned runs to take a 4-2 lead.
NWMSU added three insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning. Down five runs to start the bottom of the ninth, the Tigers got one on an RBI double by
Isaac Nowell. It was Nowell's second double of the game and third overall hit.

Nowell and Burris are now tied for the team-high in hits this season with seven each. Nowell's .389 batting average is best on the team. Burris sits at .350.
