ARKADELPHIA – Callie Jourdan delivered a game-winning double and Tuesday Melton tossed her second straight complete game to give the Ouachita Baptist University softball team a 3-1 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State at home on Friday to cap a double header split. Southeaster won the first game 7-1.
Jourdan ended up with both run-producing hits in the second-game victory with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1 and a two-run, two-out double in the sixth to give the Tigers (14-25, 10-16 GAC) their final 3-1 lead.
Melton (3-4) went the distance in the circle for the Tigers for the complete-game victory with just one run allowed on eight hits with no walks in her seven innings of work.
Jourdan was also responsible for Ouachita's lone run in game one with an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game at 1-1. Southeastern (23-22, 14-12 GAC) later scored two in the third and fourth in the fifth, including a bases-clearing double in the fifth.
