ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita softball student-athletes Remington Adams and Jordyn Merrett have been selected to the 2026 Academic All-District Team presented by College Sports Communicators.

Adams, a recent graduate from Farmington, Arkansas, was one of two First Team All-Great American Conference selections for the Tigers this season. She finished her senior season leading the team in batting average (.327), hits (55), and stolen bases (11). She was also Ouachita softball's top scholar-athlete this season with a spot on the All-Ouachita Academic Team. She graduated earlier this month with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

Merrett, a junior from Wylie, Texas, played in all 52 games for the Tigers this season and started most of those games at first base, finishing the year with 37 hits, including six home runs. Five of those round-trippers came in one week, which led to NFCA National Hitter of the Week honors. Academically, Merrett is pursuing a degree in kinesiology and psychology.

The CSC Academic All-District Team honors student-athletes in at least their second year of college that maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and are starters or significant reserves athletically. This is the third straight season for Adams to earn the honor.
