ARKADELPHIA – Catrin Hoffman has been hired as the new assistant softball coach at Ouachita Baptist University.
Hoffman joins the Tigers after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Abilene Christian University for the 2025-26 season, where she played a key role in player development, scouting, and daily operations. During her time on staff, she assisted with practice planning, game preparation, and recruiting efforts, while also working closely with catchers.
In addition to her coaching duties, Hoffman contributed to team logistics, equipment management, and travel coordination, while utilizing advanced analytics tools to assist with opponent scouting and game strategy.
"I am more than excited for Coach Hoffman to join us," said Ouachita Head Coach
Jeff Jackson. "She believes in the mission of our university and the culture in our program. Her high softball IQ, experience as both a player and coach, and her proven work ethic will be extremely helpful in the continued growth of our program."
A former standout student-athlete, Hoffman played NCAA Division I softball at Abilene Christian from 2022–25, appearing in 115 games, and earning recognition as one of the team's most consistent offensive contributors. She led the Wildcats in on-base percentage and slugging percentage during the 2025 season and finished among team leaders in multiple offensive categories.
Prior to her time at ACU, Hoffman starred at Temple College, where she earned first-team all-conference and all-region honors after posting a .431 batting average with 13 home runs and 69 RBI during the 2022 season.
The Emory, Texas native has also accumulated over a decade of experience providing private softball instruction, specializing in hitting, catching, and defensive development.
Hoffman holds an associate's degree in general studies from Temple College, a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from ACU, and a master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in healthcare administration from ACU.
