DURANT, Oklahoma – The Ouachita Baptist University baseball team wrapped up its weekend series at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday with a 13-3 loss to the Savage Storm.
With Saturday's outcome, Southeastern wins the series two games to one after the two squads split Friday's double header.
Jaxon Chaney started Saturday's scoring with his seventh homerun of the season, this one a solo shot to left center.
The Ouachita lead was short-lived as the Savage Storm struck for nine runs in the bottom of the third inning. Southeastern added two more in each of the fifth and sixth innings.
Ouachita plated its final two runs in the top of the seventh on solo homeruns by
Wyatt Core and
Isaac Nowell. It was Core's seventh homerun of the season, and the third for Nowell.
The Tigers are now set for their second matchup of the season against cross-street rival Henderson State this Tuesday at home. It is the first and only meeting between the two squads at Rab Rodgers Field. The Tigers and Reddies will battle across the street in a three-game GAC series to close out the regular season at the end of the month.
