TIGERS SWEEP EAGLES IN DRAMATIC FASHION

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University baseball team won a pair of non-conference games over Williams Baptist on Tuesday at home by final scores of 20-4 and 5-4.

In the opener, the Tigers (21-13) plated 20 runs for the team's 20th win of the season. It was the first time Ouachita has scored 20 runs in a game since 2011.

In the second game, the Tigers came from behind and scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win in walk-off fashion. Wyatt Core delivered the game-winning single.

Ouachita's 20-run performance was highlighted by a 10-run rally in the third inning. Except for a two-run single by Noah Bachman, all other Tiger runs in the rally came one at a time.

The Tigers added five more in the fourth, highlighted by a two-run double by G. Allen, one more in the fifth, and four more in the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single by Isaac Nowell.

Luke House earned his first career pitching win, giving up just one run in the first four innings.

In the second game, WBU (17-17) scored one run in each of the fifth and sixth innings to take a lead heading into the final inning. The Tigers rallied to load the bases, and with two outs, Wyatt Core singled through the left side of the infield to drive in the game-winning run from second base.

The Tigers finished with 12 hits for their fourth straight game with at least 10 and the 19th game reaching the mark this season. Four Tigers finished with two hits in the win with Cade Burris and Core leading the way in run production with two RBI each.

Ouachita is back in action this weekend at home, hosting Arkansas-Monticello for a three-game Great American Conference series on Friday and Saturday.
