ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita men's tennis will have four players competing at the 2023 ITA Cup, which is this week in Rome, Georgia.
Phil Exner,
Alex Blanchar,
Fernando Docters, and
Ramon Strassmann will all be competing at the premier event of the fall season for NCAA Division II tennis. This marks the highest number of individuals competing at the ITA Cup in program history.
Exner has been seeded as the No. 1 singles player in the tournament, which gets underway Thursday, October 12. He will take on Barry's Adam Lynch in the opening round. Exner's No. 1 national ranking unofficially marks the first time Ouachita has ever had a seeded player at the ITA Cup.
Blanchar will serve as the first alternate singles player at this year's event. He will have guaranteed time on the court in the doubles bracket with Exner as the No. 2-seeded duo in the event. They will take on a duo from Columbus State in the opening round on Thursday.
Docters and Strassmann earned a ticket to the event by winning the ITA regional championship three weeks ago in Edmond, Oklahoma. They will open up against a duo from Lander University on Thursday.
There will be live streaming of the event, which can be accessed at
