BOLIVAR, Missouri – The ninth-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men's tennis team stepped out of classification on Saturday to take on the nation's top-ranked junior college program, Cowley College, who took down the Tigers at a neutral site by a final score of 4-1.
Ouachita (4-4) stays in Bolivar to take on 12th-ranked NCAA Division II program in the nation on Sunday in Southwest Baptist.
In Saturday's loss to Cowley (7-1), Ouachita fell behind in doubles after taking losses in the first two positions.
Matias Parzajuk and
Ramon Strassmann were in the midst of a close fight in third position doubles when the point was decided.
In singles, Ouachita's lone win came from 62nd-ranked
Alex Blanchar in first position. Blanchar was up 6-0 on his opponent before the match ended in a forfeit.
