ARKADELPHIA – The ninth-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men's tennis team earned a convincing 7-0 win over Emporia State University on Tuesday at home to carry momentum into its upcoming stretch of seven straight matches on the road.
The Tigers (6-4) swept through doubles and singles play against the Hornets (4-5) with only one matchup needing an extra frame to decide a winner. Emporia's Jaden Tredway opened up with a 6-4 win in fifth position singles, but Ouachita's Ramon Strassmann rallied with back-to-back 6-2 scores to earn the point.
The Tigers head to the gulf coast for spring break, making a stop in Clinton, Mississippi to take on Mississippi College on Sunday before taking on Auburn-Montgomery and West Florida next Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, in Pensacola.
