PENSACOLA, Florida – The 13th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men's tennis team matched up with seventh-ranked University of West Florida on Thursday in Pensacola with the Argonauts coming away with a 7-0 sweep.
Although UWF (11-2) took all seven points from the Tigers (7-6), Ouachita turned in a tough fight with close matchups in first and second position doubles, a three-set loss in first position singles, and close scores in three other singles matchups.
The Tigers now turn their attention to Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association/Great American Conference play, which opens on Tuesday on the road against 48th-ranked Southern Arkansas. Tuesday's matchup against the Muleriders will be the 11th contest that Ouachita has faced off against a team that is currently ranked in the ITA D2 top 50.
