ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University softball team dropped the final game of the series to the no. 24 Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University by a score of 7-1 Sunday afternoon at Sully Anderson Field.
The Tigers started the series finale with a strong first inning.
Hope Waid singled to lead things off for the Tigers, then
Heather Brown executed a great sacrifice bunt to move Waid into scoring position.
Erin Williams then hit an RBI single to center field that scored Waid from second base to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead after one inning. The one run would be it for Ouachita in the game as the Tigers managed a few more hits but could not get another runner home. Southern Arkansas plated two runs in the third, two in the fifth and scored three runs in the sixth to bring about the final score of 7-1 at Sully Anderson Field.
The Tigers will head to Searcy, Arkansas to take on the top-25 ranked Harding Bisons in a three-game Great American Conference series set to begin Friday, April 7.
