TYLER, Texas – The Ouachita men's tennis team combined for two first-place finishes and six runner-up finishes in its 2023-24 season opener over the weekend at the Tyler Invitational co-hosted by UT-Tyler and Tyler Junior College.
Alex Blanchar started his senior season off with as the singles champion of the first flight and teamed up with
Phil Exner for a runner-up doubles finish in the first flight. Exner finished in third place in singles in the first flight.
Fernando Docters and
Ramon Strassmann teamed up to take first place in doubles in the first flight. In singles, Docters was the runner-up in the second flight. Strassmann took second in the second flight back draw.
Moritz Buss and
Elias Lagger made their Ouachita debuts over the weekend, coming in second in doubles in the third flight. In singles, Buss took second in the third flight back draw. Lagger came in third in the fourth flight.
Aaron Osmond and
Yosua Lumbanradja took second in doubles in the second flight. In singles, Osmond came in third in the third flight. Lumbanradja took fourth in the fourth flight back draw.
The Tigers head to Topeka, Kansas this weekend (September 15-17) to compete at the ITA Regionals.
