ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's cross country team earned its third win of the season Saturday afternoon in the 2024 Tiger Invitational.
The Tigers placed first out of seven scoring teams with a score of 24 points. Out of the seven teams, five were fellow Great American Conference members. Southeastern Oklahoma State took second place with 34 points. Southern Arkansas placed third with 91 points, followed by Texas A&M-Texarkana in fourth (108), Henderson State in fifth (139), Arkansas-Monticello in sixth (183), and LeMoyne-Owen in seventh (216).
Macie Cash was the first Tiger across the line, placing second overall in the 5K, but earning first-place points with a time of 18:24.20.
Ouachita totaled six of the top 10 runners.
Elise Knight was the second Tiger to cross the finish line, placing fourth with a time of 18:58.82.
Lucy Holden came took sixth (19:07.98), followed by
Jaci McGregor in eighth (19:11.69),
Emmeline Burrow in ninth (19:15.76), and Emilia Eriksson in tenth (19:31.57).
This was Ouachita's third team win of the season after taking first place at the Bob Gravett Invitational and West Florida's Argonaut Invitational in September.
The Tiger Invitational also up the regular season for Ouachita. The Tigers will now be preparing for the 2024 Great American Conference Championships, which are set to be held on Saturday, October 26 in Ada, Oklahoma.
