PITTSBURG, Kansas – The Ouachita women's indoor track team wrapped up its regular season at the Pitt State Gorilla Classic with two DII provisional times and seven new school records.
The Distance Medley Relay squad of Izzi Breaux, Anna Woolsey, Jaci McGregor, and Macie Cash placed fifth in the event with a NCAA DII provisional time of 11:58.60, which ranks 19
th in all of DII. The 11:58.60 is also a school record, breaking the previous record by 22 seconds.
Woolsey ran her second provisional time of the season in the 400m with a new school record time of 56.52.
Belle Lindsey set a school record in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.09, breaking her previous record time of 9.41.
Laynie White's 600m time of 1:28.41 earned her a fourth-place finish and a new school record.
McGregor recorded another school record at the Gorilla Classic by running a 2:18.09 in the 800m, breaking the previous record by over two seconds.
Cash picked up a new school record in the 3000m with a time of 10:09.40, placing seventh in the event and beating her previous record by seven seconds.
The 4x400m Relay team of Woolsey, Ashley Dillman, McGregor, and White set a school record in the event with a time of 4:01.36, breaking the previous record by three seconds.
This meet marked the end of the regular season for indoor track and field. The Tigers who ran NCAA provisional times this season will have to wait for the NCAA's selection committee to make the decisions on who makes the cut for nationals. Typically, the top 16 to 20 times in the country make it. Nationals will take place on March 8-9 at Pittsburg State.
The Tigers will open outdoor track season on Saturday, March 2 at the Hendrix College Invitational in Conway, Arkansas.
