ARKADELPHIA – The No. 12 Ouachita men's tennis team earned its fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday at home in a 4-3 win over Nebraska-Kearney.
After falling behind in doubles with only No. 3
Fernando Docters and
Ramon Strassmann coming through with a 6-4 win in second position, the Tigers then came through with four singles wins to seal the win.
No. 21
Alex Blanchar made quick work of UNK's No. 32 Maksym Kulish to start with scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
Moritz Buss followed with a win in sixth position, followed later by No. 34
Fernando Docters in third position and eventually No. 19
Phil Exner in second position.
UNK earned points with wins in fourth and fifth positions, both matchups needing a third set to determine a winner. Other than Blanchar's comfortable win in first position, all singles were close.
The Tigers will be hitting the road this weekend and into next week for a Spring Break trip that will feature four different Gulf South Conference opponents.
