WOMEN TALLY EIGHT WINS AND BREAK 10 RECORDS IN MEMPHIS

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – The Ouachita women's track and field team posted eight first place finishes and broke 10 school records over the weekend at the Rhodes College Invitational.
 
10 total school records were broken at the Rhodes Invitational:
 
Anna Woolsey broke two school records over the weekend. Woolsey set a school record in the 100m Dash with a time of 12.25, placing fifth behind only Division I sprinters. The Ozark, Arkansas native also broke her own school record in the 200m Dash with a time of 24.95, taking second place again behind only a DI sprinter.
 
Belle Lindsey also broke two school records at Rhodes. Lindsey set the school record in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.14 for a second-place finish behind a Division I runner. The freshman from DeQueen, Arkansas followed up her 100m Hurdles performance with a win and a new school record in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:05.15. Lindsey also placed third in the long jump with a distance of 5.21m (17'3.25.")
 
Izzi Breaux won the Mile with a new school record time of 5:04.53, beating out Division I runners for the top spot.
 
Mackenzie Davis broke her own school record in the 5000m with a time of 17:40.10, beating her previous record by over 12 seconds and earning a fifth-place finish.
 
Alysha Colburn set a new Pole Vault record with a height of 2.50m (8'2") and placed eighth in the event.
 
The 4x100m Relay squad of Woolsey, Ashley Dillman, Jaci McGregor, and Laynie White set a new school record in the event with a time of 49.20 and placed second behind DI UT-Martin.
 
The 4x400m Relay team of Lindsey, McGregor, Woolsey, and White won the event with a record time of 4:00.27, beating the previous record by three seconds.
 
The 4x800m Relay squad of White, Breaux, Ellie Hoemann, and McGregor won the relay with a record time of 9:23.29, breaking the previous record by nearly 20 seconds.
 
Four other Tigers earned first place finishes at the Rhodes Invitational.
 
Rachel Dunn won the triple jump with a distance of 11.03m (36'2,25"). Dunn also took second in the long jump with a distance of 5.28m (17'3.75.")
 
Allison Hylkema won the 10,000m race by more than a three-minute margin with a time of 37:13.54.
 
Kate Nachtigal won the 3000m Steeplechase by a 31-second margin with a time of 11:08.35.
 
Multiple Tigers finished in the top three of events.
Emilia Eriksson placed second in the 10,000m with a time of 40:19.83.
Jaci McGregor finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:17.94, just 0.62 seconds out of first place.
The 4x800m Relay Squad of Dillman, Monk, Zoe Carter, and Lucy Holden took second with a time of 9:44.81.
Ellie Hoemann placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:18.90, less than a second out of second place.
Megan Monk took third in the Mile with a time of 5:17.23.
 
Ouachita totaled 34 top 10 finishes in Memphis with 26 personal bests. There were no team scores recorded at this meet, but the Tigers had a successful weekend in Tennessee against opponents from Division I, II, and III programs.
 
Next up, the Tigers will head south to Texas to take part in the Texas Relays at the University of Texas in Austin and compete in the Texas State Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos.
