FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – The Ouachita track & field teams sent a small contingent of Tigers to Northwest Arkansas on Friday to compete in the Arkansas Twilight last chance meet.
The women's 4x400 relay team turned in a season-best time of 3:42.59 to improve their national ranking to No. 21 as the Sunday deadline approaches to qualify for nationals. That team consists of
Joey Babel,
Anna Woolsey,
Zyron Brock, and
Belle Lindsey Dykes.
Sophomore
Addi Durand improved her 800M time by nearly four seconds with a time of 2:09.59, which slid her up to the No. 32 spot nationally in the event.
Senior
Elise Knight hit another provisional time in the 3000M steeplechase at 10:58.45, but did not improve her national ranking in the event, which is currently 22nd with a time of 10:37.10 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
The men's 4x400 relay team hit a provisional mark with a time of 3:12.62, but the squad's finish at the Joe Walker Invite ranks higher at No. 32.
In total this season, the Tigers have nine provisional marks on the women's side and four for the men's team. Other Tigers with chances of earning a nationals invite include
Katelynn Nachtigal at No. 16 in the 300M steeplechase,
Joey Babel at No. 21 in the 400M, and
Aden Hecht at No. 12 in the 400M hurdles.
