INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Four student-athletes from the Ouachita track & field teams have been selected to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships.
The four Tigers that have qualified are
Aden Hecht,
Katelynn Nachtigal,
Elise Knight, and
Joey Babel. Nationals will be held at Emporia State in Emporia, Kansas May 21-23.
Hecht is seeded No. 14 in the 400-meter hurdles with a qualifying time of 51.38.
Nachtigal is returning to nationals to once again compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a No. 16 seed and a qualifying time of 10:33.18. Knight will join Nachtigal in the event with the No. 20 seed and a qualifying time of 10:37.10.
Babel will compete in the 400-meter dash with a No. 21 seed and a qualifying time of 54.22.
Nachtigal was Ouachita's first ever competitor at the NCAA national championships last season. Hecht is now set to become the first male athlete in the NCAA era to represent Ouachita at nationals.
