ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis team is set to carry momentum into a stretch of five straight Great American Conference matches following a 5-2 victory over Louisiana Christian on Thursday at home.

The Tigers opened up in doubles with wins in first and third positions to take an early 1-0 lead heading into singles. Austynn Crocker and Natalia Zamora Caprirolo needed a tiebreaker to win a hard-fought battle in first position. Shelly Davilus and Ruxandra Tolescu came through with a 6-3 in third position.

In singles, Sadbaroy Kholdarova was the first to finish with a two-set win in first position. Austynn Crocker followed with a two-set win of her own in second position to put the Tigers up 3-0.

Tolescu fought back to win the clinching point in fourth position with a three-set win after getting blanked in the first set. Ali May added a cushion win for the Tigers in sixth position with a win in a third-set tiebreaker.

Zamora Caprirola and Olivia Gaston each lost close battles in third and fifth positions, respectively.

The Tigers start their stretch of five straight conference matches this Saturday on the road against Arkansas Tech.
