MEN TALLY 13 TOP 10 FINISHES IN SHAWNEE

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – The Ouachita men's track and field team competed well, posting 13 top 10 finishes at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational over the weekend. 
 
There were no team scores recorded at the OKBU Invite, but the Tigers fared well against competition from some of the top Division II programs in the nation and several from fellow Great American Conference schools, recording 13 top 10 finishes.
 
The Tigers' best event at the OKBU Invite was the 400m Dash that saw four top 10 finishes by Ouachita runners.
 
Gavin Rainey took fourth place in the 400m with a time of 49.72, just 0.62 seconds out of first place.
Cole Shipp placed sixth in the 400m with a time of 49.81, 0.71 second out of first place.
Dhakivion Seals finished eighth in the 400m with a time of 50.01 seconds.
Marcus McGahee placed 10th in the 400m with a time of 50.32 seconds.
 
Other top 10 finishers for Ouachita were:
 
Gabriel Greenwich was the highest finisher for the Tigers in Shawnee, taking second in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:08.19, 14 seconds ahead of third place.
 
Russell Hensley placed third in the Javelin Throw with a distance of 44.96m (147' 6").
 
Caden Callahan took fourth in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 14.72, setting a new personal best. Callahan also placed seventh in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 57.33. The West Fork, Arkansas native has finished in the top seven of all hurdles events he has competed in so far this season.
 
MJ Ryman took sixth in the Javelin Throw with a distance of 35.94m (117' 11").
 
Jameson Flatt placed ninth in the 800m with a time of 1:57.93, just over two seconds out of first place.
 
Zach Lane placed 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.21m (40' 0.75.")
 
Keagan Pointer finished 10th in the 1500m with a time of 4:03.76.
 
The 4x400m Relay team of McGahee, Rainey, Seals, and Miller Goff placed 10th with a time of 43.89.
 
The Tigers will be back in action this weekend at the Bison Open, hosted by Harding University on Saturday, April 6 in Searcy, Arkansas.
