JONESBORO, Arkansas – The Ouachita women's track and field team racked up 13 top 10 finishes and set two school records at the Arkansas State Alumni Classic to close out the regular season.
No team scores were recorded at this meet, but the Tigers fared well against competition from multiple Division I and Division II programs, including fellow Great American Conference members in Southern Arkansas and Harding.
Anna Woolsey set the two new school records in Jonesboro. In the 100m Dash, Woolsey ran a record time of 12.10 and took second place in the Sprint. In the 200m Dash, the freshman from Ozark, Arkansas ran a school record 24.92 and placed fourth. The 24.92 currently ranks in the top 10 of the GAC this season. Woolsey also picked up a third top five finish at ASU, taking second in the 400m with a time of 57.73, just 0.06 seconds out of first place.
Four Tigers placed in the top 10 of the 1500m:
Izzi Breaux took second with a time of 4:40.43,
Katelynn Nachtigal placed third with a time of 4:41.68,
Macie Cash took fourth with a time of 4:41.76, and
Elise Knight finished seventh with a time of 4:50.91. The Tigers only placed behind DI runners from Arkansas State.
Other Top 10 Tigers were:
- Emily Payne placed fourth in the Javelin Throw with a distance of 30.30m (99' 5")
- Rachel Dunn took fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.26m (36' 10.25")
- Jaci McGregor placed seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:17.24.
- Ellie Hoemann took eighth in the 800m with a time of 2:17.70.
- Addison Skelton finished eighth in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.22.
- Brenlee Leonard placed 10th in the Shot Put with a distance of 11.22m (36' 9.75")
The Tigers will now be preparing for the 2024 Great American Conference Track & Field Championships hosted by Southern Arkansas University on May 2-4 in Magnolia, Arkansas.
